In addition to serving nearly 500 independent retail food stores in the six-state New England region and Upstate New York/Albany area, Associated Grocers of New England operates a number of corporate stores under its subsidiary, AG Supermarkets, Inc. As a retailer-owned cooperative, AG New England is committed to the success of Independent Retail Grocers. Operating a limited number of corporate stores provides firsthand experience at the retail level to better test and refine services, programs and products. These stores are an ideal test market and training center but also contribute volume and profitability to the operation of the cooperative.
